Jumto Community Services provides a range of services designed to meet the unique needs of each child, youth, adult, and family we support. We are committed to providing person-centered, strengths-based care that promotes belonging, dignity, and community connection.
We understand that behaviours are often expressions of past hurt, and we respond with patience, curiosity, and compassion. We use language that respects dignity while focusing on each person's strengths rather than labels. Whenever possible, we support family preservation so that children and youth can grow up surrounded by the love of their own families and communities.

Specialized Long-Term Care
Safe, nurturing, home-like environments
Our staffed specialized homes offer a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment where children and youth can thrive. We work closely with each young person, their family, and their circle of supportive relationships to develop personalized plans that address their unique needs, strengths, and goals.
Our homes are designed to be accessible and adaptable. We foster a sense of community within each home, encouraging the people we support to build meaningful relationships and participate in activities that promote their well-being. We recognize that expressions of distress are often responses to past hurt, and our team responds with patience, relational care, and gentle support.
Supported Independent Living
Respecting autonomy, dignity, and choice
For youth and adults who prefer to live independently in their own homes or apartments, we provide personalized support services to help them maintain their independence and achieve their goals.
Our support workers assist with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, budgeting, medication reminders, and personal care while also encouraging community connection and skill development. We work closely with each person and their family to develop flexible support plans that respect their preferences, honor their strengths, and promote their autonomy.
Shared Living – Family-Like Connection
Belonging, safety, and shared support
We believe that “it takes a nation to care” and sometimes that means finding the right family-like setting. Our shared living program carefully matches children, youth, and adults with screened, trained, and compassionate home-sharing providers.
This family-like environment offers personalized support while fostering a sense of belonging, routine, and cultural connection. Every placement is developed collaboratively with the person supported, their family, and their circle of support. We focus on building trusting relationships where everyone feels safe, valued, and at home.
Community Belonging & Connection
Active participation in community life
We believe that meaningful participation in community life is essential for a fulfilling life. Our community programs offer a wide range of opportunities for children, youth, adults, and families to engage in social, recreational, and cultural activities within their communities.
We support each person in exploring their interests, developing new skills, and building relationships with others. Our programs are flexible and adaptable designed in collaboration with the people we support and their families. Whether it’s joining a local group, learning a new hobby, or simply spending time with friends, we are there to help make connections possible.
Planned Respite & Caregiver Relief
Supporting families to stay strong together
We understand that families and caregivers need intentional, planned breaks to maintain their own well-being and sustain their ability to provide care. Our respite services provide temporary, high-quality support in a safe and welcoming environment.
We work closely with families and their circle of support to develop respite plans that respect the child’s or youth’s routines, relationships, and cultural connections. Respite can be provided in the person’s home, in one of our specialized homes, or in another community setting. This service helps prevent placement breakdown and supports family preservation whist keeping children and youth with the people who love them whenever possible.
