Who We Are
About Jumto Community Services
At Jumto Community Services, we believe it takes a nation to care.
At Jumto Community Services., we are more than a service provider; we are a community where children, youth, adults, and families feel valued, respected, and supported. Since 2013, we have been dedicated to fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment where each person we support is empowered to live a meaningful life grounded in belonging and connection.
We believe that behaviours are often expressions of past hurt, and we respond with patience, curiosity, and compassion rather than judgment. Our work is built on cultural humility. We honor the histories, rights, and self-determination of Indigenous peoples. We use language that respects dignity, avoids labels, and focuses on each person’s strengths. Whenever possible, we support family preservation so that children and youth can grow up in the love of their own families and communities.
Our Mission
We are driven by a deep-rooted belief in the power of person-centered, strengths-based care. We go beyond simply meeting daily needs – we work collaboratively with children, youth, adults, families, and community partners to develop personalized plans that honor each person’s preferences, strengths, culture, and aspirations.
We believe that every person is unique, and their needs, goals, and voice should be at the center of all planning and decision-making. It takes a nation to care – and we are honored to be part of yours.

Our Values
Person-Centered & Strengths-Based
We believe that care should be as unique as the person receiving it. We tailor our services to meet specific needs, preferences, and goals, ensuring that every child, youth, adult, and family feels heard and understood. We believe that people should be at the center of their own planning and decision-making, surrounded by a circle of supportive relationships – family, friends, community, and caregivers.
Dignity, Respect & Language That Heals
We uphold the dignity and respect of every person, recognizing their inherent worth and autonomy. We champion their right to make choices and have a voice in their care. We are thoughtful about the words we use – avoiding labels, stereotypes, and judgment – because language can heal or harm. We choose words that honor lived experience.
Community Belonging & Connection
We are passionate about fostering a sense of belonging and purpose through meaningful community participation. We support people in accessing and engaging in a wide range of social, recreational, and cultural activities within their communities. We believe that everyone has the right to be an active and contributing member of their community – not just physically present but truly connected.
Cultural Humility & Reconciliation
We embrace the rich diversity of cultures within our community, with a particular focus on recognizing and honoring Indigenous cultures, histories, and rights. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. We are committed to ongoing learning – listening to Indigenous voices, understanding the legacy of colonialism, and supporting the self-determination of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We walk alongside Indigenous children, youth, adults, and families with humility and respect.
Continuous Learning & Growing
We are committed to providing high-quality services that meet the evolving needs of the people we support. We actively seek feedback from the people we support, their families, and our community partners and consistently strive to improve based on what we learn. We believe that good care means always being willing to grow, change, and do better.
At Jumto Community Services, we are more than a service provider – we are a community where children, youth, adults, and families are empowered to live fulfilling lives rooted in belonging, connection, and respect.
